This 1-bedroom cottage is a stone barn conversion in the heart of Northumberland National Park near Powburn. It overlooks a 1,800-acre working sheep farm with panoramic views across the Ingram Valley and the Cheviot Hills. This is a proper rural hideaway: remote, quiet and genuinely off the beaten track. There is a fire pit outside.
The landscape is wild and unspoiled. Red squirrels live here. You might spot an otter in the River Breamish or hear curlews in spring. The Pennine Way is just 2 miles away. Linhope Spout waterfall, with 18 metres of falling water, is a 4-mile walk from the door. This is a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site so the night skies are extraordinary.
