Smithy Cottage Reviews

Alison
Beautiful cottage situated only a mile walk across fields from the most stunning coastline. The cottage and grounds are perfectly maintained. The area is very peaceful. We would highly recommend staying here and intend on returning.
Christine
We loved our stay at Smithy Cottage. It was modern with a touch of class. Sitting in the lounge on the comfortable sofas, the views of the farmland and the sea beyond were to die for. The properties were designed so that everyone had a sea view. The welcome pack of milk, orange juise, bread, butter and biscuits were very much apprieciated. After a busy day out and about it was a pleasure to return to the spacious, well equiped accomodation which had everything you could need in a holiday home.
We had a delightful short break staying in Smithy Cottage which had everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the footpath to the beach and were lucky to have beautiful warm sunny weather to enjoy our time there very much. The whole North Farm estate was exceptionally well presented.
Lovely cottage, perfect location and facilities
Alison
Another lovely week at North Farm Cottages. Everything you could want in a holiday destination. Cottage spacious and comfortable, wellequipped, spotlessly clean, love the hot tub. The private swimming slot in the beautiful pool is a real treat. Beautiful and peaceful location, friendly and helpful staff. Returning in July for what will be our sixth visit says it all!
Wonderful stay again. Beautiful accommodation in wonderful setting. Problem with the hearing and never resolved during our stay, even though they came to look at it and told us the timer wasnt working and to operate it manually. Problem was getting up in the morning to a cold cottage to switch the heating on manually by turning up the thermostat. However, still a lovely stay.

We had a fantastic week at smithy cottage and the little touches provided were much appreciated cottage is amazing and the views from them just special swimming pool and grounds and hot tub spotless and we made the most of would only have one suggestion that new pillows and robes would be much appreciated will be booking again for next year
A lovely, quality development in beautiful Northumberland. Well equipped, comfortable cottage. One of a group but each has it's own surrounding space and hot tub, with views towards the coast. Love the fact that you can book the indoor pool so that effectively you have it to yourself. We plan to return

Had a lovely 4 days at Smithy Cottage. Great location, well maintained indoor and out, very clean and well equipped, except the bedroom with twin beds, which my husband and I slept in. There was no mirror in the bedroom although it is a good size room with lots of wall space available for a mirror. We had to buy a small freestanding mirror while we were there. Also, there is no surface pace in the twin room just a very small bedside table between the beds and a window cill. Again, there was plenty of space available for at least 2 bedside tables. A lot of our stuff had to sit on the floor. Would definitely recommend Smithy Cottage but take your own mirror and travel light especially if you are sharing with other adults. Probably wont be a problem if kids slept in the twin room.
A full length mirror would be a good idea also a shelf under the mirror in the bedroom for make up. Or put a shavingmake up mirror in the bathroom
Lovely new cottage, comfortable and clean. The hot tub and use of the pool are the icing on the cake. Great location for local walks with easy access to main roads for exploring the area.

Another enjoyable stay at North Farm Cottages. Great views and lovely walks from the cottage, plus easy access to local bus services. We hope to return soon.
Plus points Lovely cottage in new build area. Nice accessible walks from doorstep and a good base for surrounding landmarks, e.g Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh etc. Clean and modern, with good facilities. Welcome pack with essentials which was appreciated! Use of swimming pool and personal hot tub. Negative points Smithy on end of row next to car park so everyone was walking past our window to get to their car as was only access. Only one bedroom had a mirror. During our 1 week stay we suffered 2 major power cuts one over 12hrs which, although no direct fault of the owner, hampered our stay quite a bit. Also we had to contact owner ourselves as he didnt let us know what was happening which was a little frustrating. Although a designated dark sky area, it was difficult to navigate in the dark from the pool back to our cottage low level lighting may help? WiFi was hit and miss, no router that we could see, perhaps in adjacent cottage? All in all we would stay again if these few issues could be improved. A lovely house in a quiet area. Thankyou for having us.
Kathleen
We loved the property. We made good use of the pool and hot tub. Its a lovely setting and looks down on one of our favourite beaches. We looked into the possibility of coming back for Christmas but found the price to be astronomical.
