Driftwood Of Newton Reviews

Greg
You can walk to the beach in 5 mins, the cottage was comfortable and well equipped, lots of hot water for the big bath.
Suzanne
Great home from home place. Great location, comfortable beds. Visited 5 times now and Iâ??m sure we will be back
Clare
A lovely, warm, welcoming and comfortable home. Hopefully we will be back another year
Suzanne
This house is in a fantastic location with coastal walks from the door. The facilities are great including the boot room and utility room with an extra fridge and washer/dryer. The rooms are all a good size and the kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfy, and the shower was powerful and hot. We struggled with parking a large estate car on the drive, itâ??s quite tight, and wouldnâ??t fit two large cars. But there is a visitors parking permit provided, so on-street parking could be used. Would we return? Maybe because of the propertyâ??s location, but Iâ??d like to see an improvement from the cleaning team!
Robert
Nice house and location but home could do with some tlc.
Kerry
A lovely position with short walks to 2 very different beaches both loved by our dog. Also having access to 2 pub restaurants was great and was a bonus to not travel out in the evening after a days sight seeing. The house inside was comfortable with comfy beds and appropriate decorations. Would love to return but would prefer a more usable outside space and a 2nd shower over the bath. A must with 4 adults. Thank you
Michael
A very cosy well equipped cottage in a beautiful location
Brenda
Return visit to Driftwood after ten years. Perfectly placed for lovely walks from the door and two great local pubs. Sadly the property is now looking very tired and needs some attention. Shame really. Could be stunning.
Mark
We loved our second stay at Driftwood. The location is excellent with two beaches in walking distance. The super-king size bed is super comfortable and there plenty of equipment in the property.
Annie
Location was excellent and lots of room in the house. Very dog friendly. Some things were a bit worn for the price of the property but generally very comfortable and nicely furnished. Beds were great. Pub next door was excellent and close to walk to the beaches.
Julie
The location of the cottage is great. The beds and pillows very comfortable. Some refurbishment downstairs would be of benefit
Suzanne
We love this property - fantastic location, comfortable beds and furniture. Wie have stayed here several times and will undoubtedly be booking again.
Caroline
Driftwood cottage is in an ideal location for walking to the beach, and almost next door to The Joinerâ??s Arms. The house was comfortable, and the secure garden great for our dog. The downstairs living area had plenty of room for 5 of us, but only one shower took some organising!
Michael
We attended wedding at newton hall. House was a great location. Took family up. 3 adults and 2 young children. House was perfect for our trip. Enjoyed trips to beach and farne island
Dan
Great house and location to get to the beach and to get to around Northumberland! Would definitely stay again!
Elizabeth
we had a lovely stay at Driftwood - the beds are all really comfortable and the house was plenty big enough for our needs. The only queue was for the bathrooms. Great to have additional fridge / freezer space and a washing machine. A great base to explore Northumberland Thanks for having us.
Clare
A spacious house with an excellent living space. The kitchen is a little tired & could do with a makeover & updated kitchen appliances eg a Coffee machine/Nespresso. Two great upstairs bedrooms & one very small double & one shower room between six people is inadequate. This could be easily solved with a shower above the bath downstairs. Bring your own basic supplies as no loo roll, soap or kitchn welcome pack on arrival just a few packets of biscuits & there's no shop within driving distance. The village has two local pubs & the Ship is the nicest one, down near the seafront. The cottage is in a pretty location but needs updating to be worthy of 4 stars.
Lesley
A nice house and location but after a lot of visitors (canine & human) it was pretty tired and in need of a good clean and some maintenance. Further let down by not even a stick of wood in the log basket, less than 1 full toilet roll in the house for 2 bathrooms . . .
Mark
We had a lovely stay at Driftwood. Well equipped and clean with several beaches a short walk away.
Judi
What a fantastic holiday home this is! So spacious and accommodating. Very comfortable and easy to stay in. Great kitchen and living room. The addition of the boiler room which can be used a drying room is great. Lovely downstairs bathroom and good shower room upstairs. Beautiful views over the Cheviots from the upstairs windows - all sorts of wildlife to watch. We would definitely stay here again. The location is superb. 15 min walk to two beaches. Pub 4 doors down (no noise from pub) and the Ship in 15 min walk away. Beautiful beaches and great walks. Castles and history everywhere. Our favourite part of the country.
Sally
What a wonderful week at Driftside! The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and had a truly enclosed and secure garden for our labs. Great for morning dog walks with the coast a 10 minute walk away. Ideally placed for exploring with Alnwick, Warkworth, Cragside and Seahouses all within easy reach.
Geoff
Overall, the house location is in a good position to walk to Beadnell beach and low newton beach, also accessing Alnwick and Bamburgh to the North.
Christopher
Looking at the visitors book most people seemed to like it, we were very disappointed
Simon
The kitchen cold water tap was continuously running when we arrived. And this had been reported by the cleaner on the Sunday. However it took 3 days for the matter to be resolved and as the tap had been out of use during this time it was an inconvenience having to go to the utility room each time we needed cold water.
Debbie
Perfectly spacious, comfortable accomodation. Perfect location for visiting lots of attractions by car. Walking distance from a lovely beach at Low Newton which we enjoyed frequently. Perfect for our family including our two dogs- small, enclosed garden was great. The Joiners Arms is a lovely gastro pub a stones throw away.
Vicky
We had an amazing time at Driftwood Cottage and will definitely go back! Highly recommend for location, comfort, and equipment - we had a great holiday. Thank you!
Michael
