Shipley House Reviews

Jenny
Really great house with everything you need. We had dogs and it was great to have a fully enclosed back garden, worked really well for us.
Heather
A very comfortable house to stay. Beds lovely! Owners have obviously realised what makes a holiday special.
Claudia
A lovely home-from-home holiday cottage. Really well equipped, warm and cosy. Plenty of supplies such as dishwasher and washing tablets, bin bags, washing up liquid, soaps, toilet rolls. Garden perfect for a dog being fully enclosed. Grass freshly mowed so was clean (no dog waste when we arrived). The TV had access to iplayer, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc if you want to use your own login details. Fantastic location, 10 mins from Alnwick and 20 mins from the coast. We found a public footpath which lead to a farmers field to walk the dog but not a lot of options due to the road and lack of footpath. It was very muddy though as it had been recently ploughed We know Northumberland well and it was wonderful to explore the beaches, castles etc in the Autumn as a change to Summer. Everywhere is dog friendly.
Catherine
We had a great stay and are hoping to return. Lovely location. Back garden secure and safe for the dog. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy and very comfortable beds.
Julie
The house was lovely, clean, comfortable and in a great location for visiting all the main attractions Northumberland had to offer. The kitchen was so well equipped and the secure garden was great, especially for the dog. We had a fantastic week and would definitely stay there again.
Gillian
Very comfortable stay. The only issue we had was the pub was located half a mile away but you had to walk along a road with no pavement. Enjoyed watching the wildlife in the field beside us. Ideal location for visuting all of Northumberland's high spots.
Judith
A lovely spacious cottage in an idyllic location.
Fiona
A beautiful modern property with so much space and light. Perfectly situated for visiting the Northumberland coast and Alnwick, Cragside etc. Parking and garden make everything easy. TV needs updating and mattresses a bit firm for our taste. A house guide with additional tips for local eateries or places to visit would be really helpful.
Maria
Lovely cottage with very comfy beds and plenty of space. Very cosy and warm. Quiet area but close to lots of places to visit.
Heather
The cottage is lovely, practical and comfortable. Also warm and thermostat easy to use. Tv could do with an update. Will be booking again next year! Thank you x
Michael
Very nice, modern and well-equipped cottage. Conveniently situated for access to the coast and within walking distance of a very good pub - The Horseshoes.
Christine
So enjoyed our stay here. Lovely clean, spacious and well equipped property. Excellent quiet location whilst being well placed to easily visit the surrounding coast and countryside. Very comfortable beds, super hot water and efficient heating. Secure back garden was a real bonus for the dogs. Would certainly stay here again.
Clare
Overall this property was really nice to stay in, very quiet and peaceful location with great views of the sunset over the fields. Easy access to the local beaches and towns. Good facilities and enclosed, safe garden for dogs. Only 1 downside was the very creaky stairs. Unfortunately if you are a light sleeper you hear anyone using them at night! Would definitely recommend this holiday property.
Paul
Has plenty of all utensils, crockery and pans. Good layout for well behaved pets
Nicola
The house is very well laid out and has a spacious feel to it. It is lovely and light. Very well furnished and equipped. The garden is fully enclosed and safe for dogs - plenty of outdoor space. It is well positioned for driving to various wonderful beaches, the town of Alnwick, and all of the north-eastern part. It is well situated for going out and about. Lindisfarne is only a half hour drive away, as is the National Trust property of Cragside - both worth a visit. We enjoyed staying in the house and would recommend it.
